Improving Stroke Care
Jul 16, 2019Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen are making strides in improving stroke care in the community.
In the State of Texas, they are the first to bring artificial intelligence to stroke care.
The technology works to analyze imaging results alerting physicians and health care providers of specific abnormalities, which will speed up the diagnosis process and improving treatment.
“We’ve seen more than a 30-minute decrease in time for the patient to get treatment. Which we know that time, every minute, 1.9 million neurons die. So imagine, saving 30 minutes really does make a big difference in a patient’s life,” said Dr. Ameer Hassan, Neurologist at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
