Dr. Rittenberg earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at Albert Einstein Hospital and a fellowship in female urology/urogynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She’s board certified in urologic surgery. Dr. Rittenberg understands that urological issues cause may cause fear and anxiety, so treating patients with compassion is central to her care philosophy. She strives to educate her patients and fosters a team approach to their individual care plans. For her, it’s all about improving her patients’ quality of life. When she isn’t seeing patients, she likes spending time with her family. They enjoy exploring new cities, practicing speaking Spanish, crafting and a good cup of coffee.

Dr Rittenberg is the best Doctor I have had. She has been my urologist for many years and will recommend and follow her anywhere she decides to practice. She is a rarity when it comes to healthcare providers. She is genuine and a true professional. She does not make up answers and does not go to the internet for answers like others I have had provide medical care. I am sure she try's to keep up with the latest technology and education. First off, the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable. The waiting room was packed but they kept things running smoothly.Secondly, and of the utmost importance, Dr. Lauren Rittenberg (DO) is, by far, the best Dr. I've ever seen. We spent so much time together (my case is complicated) that by the time we went to leave, the office had closed and only one staff member remained. She listened, she drew pictures to show me what was a certain procedure was about. She gave me sample medications. She let me ask questions. Question after question. Her answers were thoughtful and details. I am supremely organized so I brought my own pad of paper and since there were steps to take, she was to prescribe something, she recommended something I buy, I was seeing and OBGYN (she was finally, finally, a doctor that agreed with me that this pain I was having could be related) and on and on. So I wrote it all down. The number of times I said "I'm sorry, may I repeat again what we are going to do next?" She let me with complete patience and welcomed it. She let me read all my notes when I came in (I always take notes on my condition, how long, what makes it worse, is it more severe day or night, that kind of thing). She looked me in the eye and treated me like a human being. And, she said my the most important thing a doctor or anyone could ever say to me: "I'd recommend this new one, but as it's new, we don't have the data."The data. Music to my ears. I have an advanced degree in mathematics, but that shouldn't matter. Data should matter to everyone. The entire experience was in complete juxtaposition with a supposedly "famous" Dr. Twiss, quite possibly, no, the worst, doctor I've ever seen. He put my on medication that lowers blood pressure and is generally prescribed for prostate problems. I'm a female. I began fainting nightly. And it didn't work. I wrote and never heard back from him. I stopped the medication and stopped fainting. A year later, late on a Thursday a woman called for my "pre-op". Pre-op for what? I literally had no clue what doctor's office the call was from. She said I had "surgery" with Dr. Twiss on Tuesday. The next Tuesday. I asked if my insurance covered it. She said that was my job to figure out. In two days. To be fair, at the end of the only appointment I had with him, in which I heard him say a handful of words, one line was "If this medication doesn't work you are a candidate for this." He handed me a great big fancy pamphlet and walked out.I couldn't understand that pamphlet to save my life. And why did we jump from one medication not working to surgery? Come to find out, even though I still think we could have tried something, just as Dr. Rittenberg did and I think it's working, that wasn't surgery at all. She explained in great detail what that was and we determined I might be a great candidate. And even though the pamphlet talks only about success rates for people over 70 or something, she explained she had someone who was 19 on it. Then she drew the picture. Oh, it's injections. I've been getting botox and injections for my back for as long as I can remember. She mentioned anesthesia. I asked if I could decline. She was shocked but said of course, we could use sedation. I asked if I could decline that (it doesn't work), she looked even more shocked and I told her than when I get epidurals and had two RFA's on my back my back doctors were all stunned. Apparently I don't even flinch and it's kinda creepy. But I figure when you live with the pain I do, what's a needle going to do?So then I asked if it would interfere in any way with my back injections. The picture the detail, the example device. I could go on forever but I'm hoping you get the point. If not, I'll say this: The most famous Dr. In the US should be her, NOT Dr. Twiss. And forgetting him entirely, it just should be her. Period. I know doctors are fleeing the field and every time I get a good one (never as good as her, suddenly, they are gone). Please do anything and everything you can to keep her. PLEASE!!!!!

Dr. Rittenberg's assistant was amazing. She said, "I won't make you tell me your story if you are just going to have to tell it again. I'll spare you." But somehow we got on it, and as a human being she listened to me and was so unbelievably empathetic. I adored her. I always say, having been a boss working for the state of CA, hired, fired, all that stuff, you can teach a person a job, but you can't teach them a personality. And in this field, a personality, warm, welcoming, calming, is crucial. PLEASE do anything and everything you can to keep her, too.

Dr. Rittenberg showed me the catscsn, enlarged it & explained what I was seeing. She offered to show it to her partner with my permission so he could talk with me. After telling him no to removing my kidney I was in shock and couldn't ask the ?s I came to ask. She offered me the renal scan which could prove the % of kidney production. Said if under 20 - 15% it would be advisable to remove it and mentioned it would help with digestive problems. She put notes in the portal. I asked her the ?s I needed to ask in appointment. She was the 3rd urologist I saw. She listened, was caring and informative.

Dr. Rittenberg spent a lot of time with me. She was very attentive as I went over my medical history which was very lengthy and complicated. I could tell that she was really listening to me because of the questions that she did ask me. Best doctor that I have ever been to. I wish they were all like her--caring and professional.
