Dr. Alejandro Asencio is a board certified Cardiologist that specializes in interventional catheter- based therapies for cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Asencio grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Arizona in 2016 where he also served as a chief cardiology fellow. After completing his training, he practiced 4 years in an underserved area in West Virginia where he provided significant contributions to the interventional cardiology program. He is board certified in four medical specialties including cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography and internal medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
Dr. Asencio believes in prevention and in high quality, individualized patient care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Asencio enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with his family.

Since this first appointment was a referral, scheduling was very easy. Someone from the office called to schedule the appt time. Scheduler was friendly. I stopped in the office after the appt was made to pick up paperwork to transfer records from previous doctors. Desk staff was very friendly and happily provided 8 copies that were requested. Unfortunately, can't really say the same about the gal when I dropped off the paperwork. Sorry I didn't catch either person's name. Pre-registration portal was easy to navigate. Lady that scheduled the echo and follow-up appointment was very, very friendly and most helpful. 5 stars for her.

I didnt have any bad experience with my visit. It was very pleasant. Dr Magdaleno was very curtious and he explained what was going on with my heart and the procedure that I will be have done.
